Wyndham Garden Fort Walton Beach - Destin Hotel, FL

Amazing place to stay, even just for an overnight business trip. Comfy beds(I got a room with a bunk bed, so cool ) and the bathroom had a standard tub/shower and a walk-in shower. They have a sweet little arcade as well. A tiki bar a stone throw away from the hotel with some good food.

We stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon. The service was great. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. Since we were on our honeymoon, we wanted to change the location of our room away from the kids pool (the one with the rock wall) They allowed us to look at a couple of other rooms and we ended up choosing a room in the same location, but on the top floor. The room was nice. We did find some wadded up, wet towels shoved in the back of the bathroom sink behind the fresh towels. Housekeeping came and picked those up and provided additional towels and wash cloths. The bed also wasn't very comfortable. Breakfast was not included in our stay, so we got a breakfast sandwich and lattes with espresso at the donut and coffee shop near the lobby. The sandwich was a good size and tasted good and the coffees were strong, how we like them. The beach access was nice since we could walk right out of the hotel and be on the beach in seconds. Be aware that the chairs and umbrellas set up outside the hotel on the beach are NOT provided by Wyndham. They are set up by a 3rd party, and they will come over to charge you for using them. Wyndham should not allow these 3rd party vendors to set up chairs and umbrellas outside their hotel and should be the ones setting them up or at least providing them to their guests. We also weren't told that we would be charged for parking, $10 a day, and didn't realize we were charged until we checked out and saw it on the receipt. All and all, it was a nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the location.

Definitely our new go to place…very quiet and serene. The beaches are not overpopulated whatsoever. If you wake up around 7 AM, you’ll get to see dolphins in the ocean from your balcony.

Great location! We enjoyed the beach behind the hotel several days during our stay. The room was clean with a balcony and ocean view. The room had a microwave and small refrigerator. The small restaurant, Manatees, has good food that is fast and easy to take to the beach, pool, or back to your room. There are two outdoor pools and one very small hot tub.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a room with a balcony that was beachside. The view was gorgeous! We ate at the on site bar and grill. We both got the Sunshine hamburger without the avocado. It was good but not great. The bartender was very friendly and attentive though. There are a couple of things that I will mention that certainly did not ruin our stay but just thought it is worth mentioning. There are no shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. They still offer the tiny bottles. The bathroom has no towel rack or hook on the door so there is no where to hang the towel. We bought our room through an app which mentions that the lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach are complimentary. They are not. The rate is 48.00 dollars for a whole day. 36.oo I believe for half day. The bedroom does not have a dresser for your clothes. There is just a shelf. The music they have at the pool area sounds like elevator music ( I only mention this because I hope the hotel sees this and decides to change it to something more lively ) Otherwise our stay was fine and we had a good time.

Overall our stay was great. We stayed in a double suite. Pools are nice. Service was great. Room was clean and well put together. The only complaint I have is the elevator was super slow (not a big deal). Will be returning next time we’re in Fort Walton.

Much needed rest. Perfect location and clean room. Very nice staff. The Restaurant by the pool has a very good burger. Highly recommend staying here if looking for a hotel with beautiful views and to watch the sunrise and Sunset from the balcony.

We had a truly memorable stay at this hotel, and one of the biggest highlights was the breathtaking view—it was absolutely stunning and made our time here even more special. Whether it was watching the sunrise or simply enjoying the scenery throughout the day, the view alone made this stay worthwhile. Our room was a bit outdated in terms of furniture and decor, but it was clean and comfortable, which mattered most to us. Despite the slightly older feel, everything functioned well, and we had no major issues. We stayed in Building D, and the only real downside was the unpleasant smell in the hallway right after exiting the elevator. It was quite noticeable every time we passed through, and we hope the management can address this with better ventilation or cleaning. Another thing to note is that the hotel provides pool towels, but not beach towels—so if you’re planning to head to the beach, make sure to bring your own. Also, if you’re interested in renting beach chairs and an umbrella, be aware that this service is offered through a third-party company, not the hotel itself. The cost was $48.15 per day (tax included) for two lounge chairs and one umbrella. Aside from these minor issues, we were very satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The staff was polite, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the location was excellent for a relaxing getaway. I had read a few reviews mentioning cockroaches, and I did spot one during our stay—but only on the balcony, not inside the room. Honestly, considering the warm climate and proximity to nature, that’s not unexpected. Just be sure to keep your balcony doors or windows closed at night, and you should be fine. In short, if you’re looking for a hotel with a fantastic view, a relaxing vibe, and a great location, this is a solid choice. We’d be happy to return in the future.

Right on the beach. Hot tub, 2 pools, and white beaches. Not much traffic, saw dolphins, sea turtles, and lots more sea life. It's a great place didn't want to leave.

I recommend and would stay because it is on the beach. Needs exterior updates. Smoking policy is ridiculous. 10 dollars a day to park here even though you're already paying to stay. Had better water pressure in the shower than most hotels. An older dude at the desk when I checked in was not very friendly, helpful or informative but the other workers were helpful, informative and great. There are some structural concerns with some balconies and roofing components. Owners should stay on top of the exterior surfaces. Great view from our room. We were in building C. Balcony doors are really hard to close and make a very loud noise to close the door so if you have small children or a baby the balcony door will wake up everyone in the room. Overall the property is great. Clean, wonderful view nice people.
